Darkstar Rising...

Where can I purchase "Darkstar Rising?"

Currently, you can order "Darkstar Rising" from directly from the publisher, Xlibris, via their website or by calling 888-795-4274, x277.

Keep one thing in mind... "Darkstar Rising" is a "print on demand" book. That means the books are printed one copy at a time, as orders come in. Consider it a special custom order just for you...

Can I find it at my local bookstore?

Unfortunately, at this time, "Darkstar Rising" is not available at mainstream bookstores. You may be able to  have the customer service desk order it for you if it is listed in the database. I've found that this is "hit or miss" depending on the retailer. Your best bet is to order from Xlibris.

What's "Darkstar Rising" about?

Live by the sword. Die by the sword.

Youngest daughter of the ruling house of Illauren, Princess Kiara - the Darkstar - has worked tirelessly to undermine the rule of the Pretender-Queen, Ushan, and restore her brother to his rightful place on the throne. Now the time has come, and Darkstar is riding out to bring the people of Illauren to her brother's side.

But an accident changes her plans.

Darkstar suddenly discovers secrets about herself that have been hidden since childhood. Secrets that will transform her from an "ordinary" princess to one of the most powerful women on the continent. And with that power comes choices. Choices that may change the course of history itself.

Choices that could destroy everyone and everything Darkstar is fighting to protect...

How was "Darkstar Rising" created?

"Darkstar Rising" began when I attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. My freshman writing professor let us do something creative... a far cry from the typical "economic recovery of Europe after World War II" essays that we so frequently had to do. I ended up giving her a 75-page story. After that I thought, "well, why can't I write a book?" And that's how it all started.

Over the years, I wasn't always able to give "Darkstar" the attention it deserved, and I even started over once completely from scratch. I finally realized how important it was for me to see this first work finished... to see it with a cover on it. Then I discovered Print On Demand publishing and Xlibris and the rest is - as they say - history... thanks, in particular, to some encouragement from my husband, Jeff.

"Darkstar" has been a lot of fun to write, and I've certainly learned a lot about myself and about the creative process. I hope you'll enjoy the book as well.
